Protect Your iPhone from Theft with iOS 17.3's Stolen Device Protection Feature
iOS 17.3 introduces a new feature called Stolen Device Protection, which helps protect iPhones from theft by requiring additional authentication when an unauthorized person tries to access the device. This feature is especially useful for preventing thieves from locking the device and accessing sensitive information such as passwords, payment methods, and Apple Cash and Savings. To enable this feature, users must have their iPhone running iOS 17.3 and go to Settings > General > Software Update, then search for and tap "Stolen Device Protection." Once enabled, the feature will require additional authentication when an unauthorized person tries to access the device, such as using a password or passcode, or when the device detects it's not at a trusted location. Additionally, the feature prevents certain changes, such as erasing all content and settings, applying for a new Apple Card, viewing Apple Savings, and turning off "Lost Mode." The feature only applies the enhanced security features when the iPhone is not at a trusted location.
