McAfee Unveils Project Mockingbird: The Latest Tool to Combat AI Voice Clone Scams

McAfee has introduced Project Mockingbird, an AI-powered deepfake audio detection technology to combat the growing threat of AI-generated scams. The technology uses AI-powered contextual, behavioral, and categorical detection models to identify and protect against maliciously altered audio in videos. With an accuracy rate of 90%, Project Mockingbird aims to provide a solution to the problem of cybercrime caused by the rise of generative AI tools. The technology has various applications, including countering AI-generated scams and tackling disinformation. According to McAfee's survey, 84% of Americans are concerned about deepfake usage in 2024, and 68% are more concerned than a year ago.
