Uncovering the Lost Crown: 12 Minutes of Prince of Persia Gameplay on Switch

The upcoming game "Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown" is a Metroidvania title developed by Ubisoft Montpellier and set to release on January 18th, 2024 for the Nintendo Switch. The game features 2.5D gameplay, combining elements of 2D and 3D, and has influences from Ubisoft's previous games such as "Rayman Origins" and "Rayman Legends". The gameplay footage shown in the video was captured on the Nintendo Switch and the game includes traversal and combat mechanics, as well as a sneak peek at one of the game's boss fights. While the game is shaping up well, according to the author's thoughts in their full hands-on impressions article, it does not yet rival the best of the Metroidvania genre and Prince of Persia brand. A demo of the game is set to release on January 11th, 2023, but there is no sign of a release date for a remake of "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time".
