Revolutionizing SEO: Researchers Uncover Key to Optimizing for AI Search

Researchers have discovered new methods for optimizing websites for AI search, which can improve their visibility and outrank larger corporate sites. The most effective method, known as "Generative Engine Optimization" (GEO), improved visibility by up to 40%. Nine different optimization techniques were tested across multiple knowledge domains, with GEO, Cite Sources, and Statistics Addition found to be the most effective. GEO was particularly effective in democratizing the top of the search results, allowing smaller content creators and independent businesses to compete with larger corporations. The researchers created a benchmark of 10,000 search queries across multiple knowledge domains and different levels of complexity, which can be used to evaluate the performance of generative engines.
