Dropbox Shares User Files with OpenAI: How to Opt Out and all the Details

Dropbox is conducting an experiment involving sharing user files with OpenAI, and users can opt out by disabling a toggle in their settings menu. The company uses OpenAI as its sole third-party AI provider, and only sends content relevant to an explicit request or command to generate an answer, summary, or transcript. Data shared with OpenAI is deleted within 30 days, and users can easily disable the feature by logging into their Dropbox account on a desktop web browser and switching the toggle to "Off." Additionally, Dropbox has launched a new product called Dropbox AI, which uses OpenAI to provide AI-powered features such as universal search and document summarization.
