Dashlane Launches Passwordless Login: A New Era in Online Security?

Dashlane has introduced a passwordless login feature for new users, making it the first password manager to eliminate the need for a master password. Existing users will have to wait for the feature to be rolled out during the coming year. The passwordless login option is available on all new personal plan accounts for both iOS and Android devices. Users can use their trusted device to log into Dashlane from any other web or mobile device after creating an account. The unique key created on the device encrypts the Dashlane vault and stores it locally on the device, providing enhanced security compared to traditional master passwords. Dashlane's zero-knowledge architecture ensures that sensitive data processing happens locally on the user's device without Dashlane or anyone else having access. The feature is expected to provide significant benefits for consumers, businesses, and institutions.
